Tim Sayer first developed his passion for photography while documenting his surfing trips to Central America after college. In 2004 he moved from his hometown of Charleston, South Carolina and soon opened his photography studio in downtown Southern Pines, North Carolina.
He began his career with a focus on creative portraiture, headshots, fashion and commercial photography. In 2007 he was persuaded to shoot his first wedding and fell in love with the fast paced and high-stakes challenge of documenting one of the most important days in his clients' lives. He now specializes in creating world class wedding photography utilizing his vast experience and the latest in cameras and equipment. Tim recommends that no matter who you hire to document your wedding, make sure that they have back ups of their back up equipment and great insurance as safe guards in case something goes wrong!
Timing is everything with photography and Tim prides himself on his ability to swiftly assess locations to determine optimal lighting set ups and necessary modifications to make his subjects look their absolute best in the shortest amount of time. Also integral to his process is his talent for quickly building trust and rapport with his clients and creating a fun, comfortable work environment.
His timeless and iconic photography has won him multiple Best of the Pines Awards, several first places and two Best in Shows at the annual Arts Council of Moore County Fine Arts Festival, and 2010 Photographer of the Year for the Wedding and Portrait Society. He has spearheaded multiple successful art gallery exhibitions, is an educator who has taught workshops at photography conventions, has shot hundreds of magazine covers and is a frequent contributor to PineStraw Magazine, Southpark Magazine, Our State Magazine as well as other regional and national publications and books.
Tim’s work has taken him to places as far-flung as Iceland and Tanzania and he is always looking for ways to use his art to benefit his community and help those who are less fortunate.
